I’ll be delivering the last few Devon D-Day World War II Heritage Trail booklets this week.
The guide commemorates 12 of the most important military and cultural sites of the Second World War in North Devon. It’s unique in including sites of both strategic importance and human significance, and highlights locations from Great Torrington in the South to Watermouth Cove in the North of the
area.
The booklet is available from museums and visitor centres.
It’s been great to work with South West Museum Development (Museum Development Officer Alison Mills), North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Dave Edgcombe and Joe Penfold) and Scribble & Nonsense (Jeff Bellingham) to create such a handsome publication! Thanks to the Friends of the Assault Training Center (Richard Bass) and all the other expert contributors. And of course to Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants, the AONB and North Devon Marketing Bureau for investing in Devon D-Day.
